We use Reynolds 725 and Columbus Spirit. These higher quality grades of steel allows us to use less of it, so you get a lighter, more responsive frame.

E.D Coating

Our steel frames are E.D. coated to act as a rust preventative and a primer. This high-performance rust inhibitor is applied inside the frame and out.

Wabi frames are road-designed with upright angles, and short wheelbases, which creates comfort, efficiency, and predictable handling. Our road frame design gives you an agile and fast ride.

We love the detail of our frames. You'll find cast-brazed dropouts, machined head tubes, brazed seatpost collars, bottle cage eyelets, and brazed forks.

Wabi Lightning 55cm

Great bike. Had been riding a 16yr old Raleigh comfort bike that weighed nearly 40lbs. What a difference. I'm 6ft,215lbs. Went with the 55cm due to step over height. Tackling hills on a 17lb bike, even with a single gear, is night and day over my old bike. Instead of grinding, I keep my rpm at 75 and just climb. I'm regularly doing 20mi per day,and honestly, feel great (52yrs old). Quality, and ride feel equal geared bikes costing 4 times as much. So happy, bought my wife the 42cm classic and we now top 100mi per week.

Totally Radical

This bike is awesome! I came from another steel bike manufacturer. At the time, I thought my old bike was awesome. Then I took the lightening for a spin. It is excellent, light, super responsive, and FAST. I was nervous about going to single speed and now I am going to sell my geared bikes. Wabi support is the best I have run into in the industry. I am so happy I found this company. Oh and they ship direct to consumer - so less mark up. Incredible value and performance. I am already planning my next build.

Worth it!

My first fixed gear in over 10 years, I remember now why I loved it so much. This thing rides like a race car. Fast steering, comes up to speed nicely. Very confidence inspiring ride. Easy assembly and everything was top notch.

Fun to Ride

The bike is an absolute fun bike to ride! It is sooo light! I knew it was going to be, but I didn't really comprehend until I actually held it. The uphills are extremely easy. The bike is unbelievably nimble. I am really happy that I purchased it when the Sub-15's and Gatorskins were included. I am also glad that I chose the compact drop bars. They get me low enough while allowing me to stay in the drops and still have power. The crank arms are stiffer than my other bike. I was worried about the red color. I prefer blue, but red looks great with the silver and brown. I was thinking that I was going to dread the clicking of the deluxe freewheel. However, it is a soothing kind of click. I use this bike on the sunny day commutes to work, and it is perfect. I can't wait to get the Thunder Urban (that was the other bike I was choosing between) for the rainy ones. There are only a few things I didn't about like. The bike has a whistle. Not quite sure what is causing it. The right brake wasn't tight enough. It moved as I put force on it when I stood to climb the first hill. I am going to have to get a different gearing. I spin out too easily. I pretty much just coast down hills.

Excellent Overall Value

I have enjoyed the bicycle for several years. I have learned to ride fixed gear and appreciate the drivetrain efficiency . I now can actually feel the drag of the free hub on my other road bike. The frame is of exceptional quality. I did not have to sacrifice stiffness on the larger size. It is very light, responsive to acceleration and rides with the smoothness typical of a traditional steel frame. After several thousand miles I experienced some drivetrain noise. I recommend upgrading the bottom bracket and crank set as this cured the problem. I installed the SRAM external bearing BB with their Onmium crankset. . I am 6' 2", 210lbs. My only other upgrade was replacing the tires with Continental Grand Prix 4000s II. The base wheels have held up very well. Given my size and weight, I opted not to go with the more expensive lighter set upgrade.
