          Steel

We use Reynolds 725 and Columbus Spirit. These higher quality grades of steel allows us to use less of it, so you get a lighter, more responsive frame.

          E.D Coating

Our steel frames are E.D. coated to act as a rust preventative and a primer. This high-performance rust inhibitor is applied inside the frame and out.

          design

Wabi frames are road-designed with upright angles, and short wheelbases, which creates comfort, efficiency, and predictable handling. Our road frame design gives you an agile and fast ride.

          Details

We love the detail of our frames. You'll find cast-brazed dropouts, machined head tubes, brazed seatpost collars, bottle cage eyelets, and brazed forks.

          Thunder

It rides more smoothly and accelerates easier than any bike I've had. I attribute that to the geometry, lack of gears and the high quality steel they use. It's hilly here. I got their standard 46x18 gearing and haven't had any trouble getting up any hills yet. Mark

          It's the intangibles

Looking at the spec sheet for the Wabi Thunder, you start to wonder if you should just do and old steel road bike conversion for the money. But, now that I've ridden the bike there is no doubt that this was a great purchase decision. The bike is lively, and responsive; aspects that come from a quality build and materials. Customizing the Wabi Thunder was a very pleasurable experience. I was unsure as to the frame size that I should purchase, so I send the results of an online bike fit calculator. Wabi was very helpful getting the right frame size, but also attached the correct stem and for a perfect fit out of the box. With fender and rack mounts, I'll be using the Thunder for my 'do everything' bike; groceries, to gravel to centuries. Thanks to Wabi for a great product!

          Beauty, Form and Function

The Thunder is an excellent example of the right balance of form and function. The bike is very well constructed from everything I can tell and the components solid and well matched for the set up. I look forward to many adventures, touring, commuting, and joy on this vehicle. Thanks to Curtis and all of the staff that assisted me with this build.

          It's Alive

I am a Medicare aged man who grew up riding steel, Columbus, Reynolds, and Tange. My large stable of steel and aluminum bicycles did not include a high end steel single speed until I bought my Wabi Thunder. After several hours of riding over rutted dirt, loose sand, and gravel roads, I can say without hesitation when It is the Wabi's turn, I am a happy man. The bike is jewel like in its tangible build quality. Even my wife, who cares little for bikes, remarked, "that's a beautiful bicycle." Yes it is. I installed a tan Brooks B-17 saddle, MKS Always pedals, and reversed the stem. I replaced the stock tires with WTB 700c x 40 Nano tires. I attached a simple Bell nylon handlebar bag. Weight with my changes is 23 pounds, 14 ounces. I ride my Wabi exclusively on the endless miles of dirt and gravel roads that surround my home. I needed several rides on my favorites routes before I could pedal up climbs without wishing for a lower gear. Now, I am stronger and relish attacking climbs and stretches of sandy soil. I love the lively feel of my Wabi. It is right up there with my Columbus and Reynolds bicycles. Nothing beats the elegant strength of steel. It is always a good day when I'm speeding along on my Thunder surrounded by nature.

Lightning strikes twice with the Thunder!

Last year my husband and i bought a brace of matching classics. We have loved riding these bikes! This year we decided to stretch our game with a pair of Thunders with 40 wide tires! We rode them along a washed out road along the mighty Elwha River valley and was that a blast! These bikes are so special in their simplicity, quality and lightweight strength. The WABI team is always a pleasure to work with. I do not see another product with more to offer and customization anywhere close to this price point. Great job again, and thank you! Patty
