Order and Build Notes
  • We are looking at about a 1-2 week turnaround right now.
  • Component colors are limited - especially silver - so Sable Greens can have silver or black components, but Cloud Gray can only have black components. Also, we only have black top mount brakes.
  • While we had to raise prices given high costs, we have reduced prices on many upgrades.
  • 60cm builds are now $30 extra due to oversized shipping charges now being applied by FedEx.
  • 42cm frames are not available with this release. They won't be available until the middle of 2022.

If you’re a road cyclist looking to make the leap to single speed or fixed gear—whether for training, an added challenge, or to try something new—the Wabi Classic is made for you. With frame geometry that’s relaxed but not slouchy, it’s perfect for long distance head-up riding while remaining aggressive enough to tuck in and give those pedals hell.

If mashing down city streets is more your style, the Wabi Classic's short wheelbase gives you a nimble ride for dodging taxis or bunny-hopping any rip-rap that gets in your way.

At about 19 pounds, the Wabi Classic is one of the lightest all-steel fixed gear bikes around. And it’s all thanks to Reynolds 725 Chromoly steel. As a double-butted tubing, Reynolds 725 has thinner walls throughout its length while its critical connection points are thicker to allow for stronger welds. It’s also heat-treated for greater durability and rigidity than the more-common 4130 Chromoly steel used in lower-end framesets. TIG welded by hand, this frame is as strong as it is sleek.

At the tail-end, you’ll find true track-style horizontal rear dropouts that can handle the extra torque generated when backpedaling to slow your roll. Rock-solid components from major makers including Tektro, Tange, and Andel complete the package.

Adding to the buttery feel of the Wabi Classic, a hand-brazed tapered Chromoly steel fork leads the way, soaking up bumps and chatters like a champ. Shipped with a sealed bearing Tange Seiki Technoglide headset installed and ready to rock, expect crisp steering and handling out of the box.

Every Wabi is assembled to order, so you can have drop bars, riser bars, bullhorns, compact drops, all at no extra charge. Tell us what gearing you want, upgrade your wheels or tires, or let us know about anything else you've seen on a Wabi (or another bike) and we'll build your bike the way you want it.

The Classic will be available in Sable Green, a dark glossy green, and Cloud Gray, a light/medium gray. For custom colors, see our topic on how to choose a color. You'll need to go ahead and purchase an existing size / color and then contact us to do a custom color upgrade.

  • Reynolds 725 double butted, heat treated tubing, TIG welded joints

Assembly. Note that our bikes come 90%+ assembled and most customers can assemble themselves. This saves you the time and cost of taking the bike to a bike shop for assembly.

Shipping and Returns

We use Reynolds 725 and Columbus Spirit. These higher quality grades of steel allows us to use less of it, so you get a lighter, more responsive frame.

    E.D Coating

Our steel frames are E.D. coated to act as a rust preventative and a primer. This high-performance rust inhibitor is applied inside the frame and out.

Wabi frames are road-designed with upright angles, and short wheelbases, which creates comfort, efficiency, and predictable handling. Our road frame design gives you an agile and fast ride.

We love the detail of our frames. You'll find cast-brazed dropouts, machined head tubes, brazed seatpost collars, bottle cage eyelets, and brazed forks.

The best bike I've ever owned

This bike... is the best. Perfectly designed, light, responsive, and good-looking. It does not fight you one bit, even with a stiffer ratio - it's just pure fun to ride, as a good bike should be. The stock components are more than adequate, believe me. You think you need to upgrade them, but then you ride the bike and it feels "just right" out of the box. It's the only stock bike I've ever purchased that honestly hasn't needed upgrades (even though I did end up changing out the chainring and cog for a Sugino 75 and a Dura Ace track, but that's just my preference). Wabi's customer service is the best as well - Victor was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, responsive, and they actually care and don't have a condescending attitude. This is that real, long-lasting quality that is so rare these days. The hype is merited - buy a Wabi and experience one of the best rides of your life. I'll be buying another Classic for the track...whenever that rumored purple colorway drops... ;)

    Amazing bike, amazing customer service!

All in all, the drive feel of the Wabi Classic is amazing and makes biking even more enjoyable than it already is! Amazing customer support makes the buying experience a dream as well. The only issue I have/had upon arrival of the bike is that the paint on the seatclamp started chipping away after inserting the seatpost, even without closing it too tight. Some of the paint crumbled after only turning in the bolt once, without the seatpost being tightened. It is just a small inconvenience and not worth shipping back anything from Europe.

I remembered how fun it is to ride a bike

I used to ride so aggressively in my early 20's- brakeless steel fixed gear, through and against traffic, down long steep hills in the rain, on long trips or maniac mashing meetups and in critical mass rides I'd organize with friends. It's a miracle that I never got more injuries than a stiff knee. It was insane and glorious. I got older. I left the old steel warrior behind. I mostly stayed off bikes, and when I did get back in a saddle I was surprised every time by how **** riding felt. I thought maybe I had just changed. Then, after at least 5 years of looking at Wabis, I went ahead and bought one. 1 hour after assembling my new classic, I was sprinting to the beat of a playlist I haven't listened to in years, laughing at the pop and flex of the steel. I yelled out, "I REMEMBER! THIS IS WHAT CYCLING IS SUPPOSED TO FEEL LIKE!"
