    Omnium crankset on Thunder

I wouldn’t really call Omnium cranks a necessity for most riders, and certainly not for me: I use my bike for commuting and recreational riding. But there were a few things that immediately impressed me about them. I’m running them with an Izumi chain and a Wabi cog and the drivetrain is shockingly silent, probably more so than my Dura Ace crank and Phil cog combination I’m running on my other bike. The stiffness of the Omnium crankset was immediately evident. And I like the way they look. It’s hard to define really, but for some reason I feel more confident on my Thunder now. Perhaps this feeling is what people mean when they say they feel ‘connected’ to the bike?
