If you’re a road cyclist looking to make the leap to single speed or fixed gear—whether for training, an added challenge, or to try something new—the Wabi Classic is made for you. With frame geometry that’s relaxed but not slouchy, it’s perfect for long distance head-up riding while remaining aggressive enough to tuck in and give those pedals hell.

If mashing down city streets is more your style, the Wabi Classic's short wheelbase gives you a nimble ride for dodging taxis or bunny-hopping any rip-rap that gets in your way.

At about 19 pounds, the Wabi Classic is one of the lightest all-steel fixed gear bikes around. And it’s all thanks to Reynolds 725 Chromoly steel. As a double-butted tubing, Reynolds 725 has thinner walls throughout its length while its critical connection points are thicker to allow for stronger welds. It’s also heat-treated for greater durability and rigidity than the more-common 4130 Chromoly steel used in lower-end framesets. TIG welded by hand, this frame is as strong as it is sleek.

At the tail-end, you’ll find true track-style horizontal rear dropouts that can handle the extra torque generated when backpedaling to slow your roll. Rock-solid components from major makers including Tektro, Tange, and Andel complete the package.

Adding to the buttery feel of the Wabi Classic, a hand-brazed tapered Chromoly steel fork leads the way, soaking up bumps and chatters like a champ. Shipped with a sealed bearing Tange Seiki Technoglide headset installed and ready to rock, expect crisp steering and handling out of the box.

Every Wabi is assembled to order, so you can have drop bars, riser bars, bullhorns, compact drops, all at no extra charge. Tell us what gearing you want, upgrade your wheels or tires, or let us know about anything else you've seen on a Wabi (or another bike) and we'll build your bike the way you want it.

For Summer 2020, the Classic is available in Sable Green, a dark glossy green, and Rhodium Blue, a silver metallic blue. For custom colors, see our topic on how to choose a color. Put the color in your checkout comments. You can also choose your component colors as black (with black chain) or silver (with gold or silver chain).

Shipping and Returns

We use Reynolds 725 and Columbus Spirit. These higher quality grades of steel allows us to use less of it, so you get a lighter, more responsive frame.

    E.D Coating

Our steel frames are E.D. coated to act as a rust preventative and a primer. This high-performance rust inhibitor is applied inside the frame and out.

Wabi frames are road-designed with upright angles, and short wheelbases, which creates comfort, efficiency, and predictable handling. Our road frame design gives you an agile and fast ride.

We love the detail of our frames. You'll find cast-brazed dropouts, machined head tubes, brazed seatpost collars, bottle cage eyelets, and brazed forks.

    Amazing ride!! Best Bike!

Amazing! Love the bike! Smooth, light, attractive, and fun to ride. Personally, best bike I have owned, and I live in Atlanta, which is hilly. You can manage, just need to route planning.

    Convert Road to Fixie

Wabi was great to work with. This is my first fixie, I have been riding road and MTB for 20+ years. I love the simplicity of the bike. I wanted a bike that was good to go from the start, and will last decades, I feel I found it. You may be able to find a slightly less expensive bike but after you upgrade to to what you get from Wabi you will most likely end up spending more. Sold LiteSpeed road bike, Fixie for life. Shout out to Zach Gallardo YouTube channel. Cheers, Craig

Way, way better than I was expecting.

I've been riding my new Classic since May 1, and after logging nearly 500 miles, I can say that the bike has far exceeded my expectations. It is so noticeably light and nimble that it is just an amazing bike to ride. I'll admit to being a bit leary about ordering this online without having a chance to go for a test ride, but with all the positive reviews, I decided to take the chance, and I am absolutely glad I did. If this year is like normal (from a riding standpoint), I'll expect to do 4K miles for the rest of 2020, and I have no doubt this bike is going to make every ride a great one!

Excellent Bicycle - Worth Every Penny

This was my first online bike purchase and I am extremely happy with the ordering process, customer service, and final product. Every time I climb onto my Wabi Classic I experience a thrill which is easily explained by the sleek, simplistic design and flawless craftsmanship. I would highly recommend Wabi to anyone interested in a new bike.

I give this bike a "5 spoke" rating!

Short Review: Holy ****!! Longer Review: After spending the past 3 years or so wondering if it would be worth upgrading my single speed bike, I decided to finally take the plunge. I go about 5,000 miles a year, and though I do about 1,000 of those on a cross bike (for better footing) during the winter months, the rest is done on a single speed. I had done mega-upgrades/modifications to my previous $350 entry level bike in an attempt to make things as good as possible, but I was clear that I was never going to be able to make it even as good as my wife and son's single speed bikes they had more recently acquired. I needed to stop thinking about it and just get one. So my Wabi Classic showed up last Thursday, a day earlier than originally scheduled. The packaging was great and I had it unboxed and assembled in less than 30 minutes. It turns out you only need to put on the handle bars, front wheel, seat and pedals. Anyway, within seconds of doing a quick test ride, I could tell my morning bike rides were going to be transformed into something totally awesome. I'll leave all the technical blah, blah, blah to the real riding pros and just say that this bike is so amazingly light that it just seems to float up hills with ease, and jack rabbit starts are now the new normal. The frame also offers a noticeably smoother ride than my previous bike in that it seemingly absorbes little pavement cracks and other road imperfections that were far more noticeable before. The overall handling is pretty amazing as well. I am not one to worry too much about how a bike looks, but if that's your thing, you won't be disappointed. A couple bikers have actually commented on it already, and that NEVER happened with any other bike I have owned. So, I have logged just under 100 miles on it over the past four days and I couldn't be happier. The only thing I changed were the tires, swapping out the Continental Ultra Sports that came on it for GP5000s. The only other thing I may consider changing would be the rear cog. I went with my usual 46/17 setup, but once the warmer weather settles in and the clothing gets lighter, I tend to go a bit faster. I'm thinking that a 16 on the rear might be a better choice for me during the summer months, mainly due to the lightness of the bike. We'll see!
