Steel

We use Reynolds 725 and Columbus Spirit. These higher quality grades of steel allows us to use less of it, so you get a lighter, more responsive frame.

E.D Coating

Our steel frames are E.D. coated to act as a rust preventative and a primer. This high-performance rust inhibitor is applied inside the frame and out.

design

Wabi frames are road-designed with upright angles, and short wheelbases, which creates comfort, efficiency, and predictable handling. Our road frame design gives you an agile and fast ride.

Details

We love the detail of our frames. You'll find cast-brazed dropouts, machined head tubes, brazed seatpost collars, bottle cage eyelets, and brazed forks.

My wife is concerned

I love my bike so much I named it. The Great Pumpkin is my favorite thing ever. I also have been caught several times apologizing to it when I can't take in out. My wife is concerned. She has mentioned to me that not only do I spend more time with my bicycle I also spend more money ON my bicycle and she feels that it is an unequal arrangement from a spousal perspective. I told her to take it up with Wabi Cycles management... Sorry to throw you under the bus like that but realistically what do you expect when you make such a bomber product???

Nice bike!

The frame and wheels of this bike are the star of the show.. there's still room for upgrades (you know to make it yours) but even the 'stock' parts that come with the bike are solid and perform their purpose well. I suppose this follows the 'wabi' mantra, so in that sense they keep with their purpose. The columbus steel frame sticker comes separate (so you can keep the clean lines and color of the bike). My first ride with this bike was a success. I did adjust the chain tension since the chain ring (like almost all chain rings) was eccentric, there was a tight spot and a 'very tight' spot in the cycling of the chain and this lead to a 'clinkity' noise from the chain.. but this was a very small adjustment. The other thing I noticed (and I'm not sure if it's from the bottom bracket or some other part of the bike) is that when I put the bike under high torque (like hill climbing fast) is something that sounds like ball bearings clinking together. Outside of this the bike was very smooth the first ride out. The second ride was adjusted up and I only got the torque noise a little bit on one hill. The front tire got a pinch flat somehow on my bike rack on the way home from my second ride. I replaced the tube. I've replaced the saddle with a selle anatomica deal.. it's heavier but certainly more comfortable than the stock saddle (though to be fair the stock saddle is passable for use and is a daintily sized little thing that clicks and creaks under my **** while shifting around). The stock saddle worked fine for the 60 or so miles I've put on the bike so far... so you don't have to be in a rush to replace it. One additional thing: you'll get is lots of comments like: "nice bike" or "I really like that bike" (from a girl no less) or "what kind of bike is that". Then being light, hills are easier so when you're passing up those geared folk.. that's always fun too :) .. So far though I really love the new bike! I look forward to many years of happiness riding this bike.

"Awesome bike, wonderful customer service "

"Put simply, I love this bike! It's super lightweight and nimble. It handles very well riding through the city, and it looks stylish. Fortunately, the customer service was attentive and helpful when needing a replacement part due to damage by FedEx delivery. Part was sent out the same day! The new website updates are an improvement but would like to see the bike and components as I customize the build. "

"It's been nearly 4 years on my Wabi Lightning SE, and I still love it."

"I've been riding my wabi bike for almost 4 years now, and I love the bike. It is lightweight, easy to carry up the stairs to my apartment building. Very fast acceleration. Customer service was top notch as well when I made my purchase back in September 2013. Ride is still as nice as the first day I got it. Only thing I'm sad about is the paint being chipped from me leaving it around sometimes but that's my fault. Great bike, worth the money, lightest bike I've come across."
