We use Reynolds 725 and Columbus Spirit. These higher quality grades of steel allows us to use less of it, so you get a lighter, more responsive frame.
Our steel frames are E.D. coated to act as a rust preventative and a primer. This high-performance rust inhibitor is applied inside the frame and out.
Wabi frames are road-designed with upright angles, and short wheelbases, which creates comfort, efficiency, and predictable handling. Our road frame design gives you an agile and fast ride.
We love the detail of our frames. You'll find cast-brazed dropouts, machined head tubes, brazed seatpost collars, bottle cage eyelets, and brazed forks.
Great frameset. The finish is very high quality--better than my road bike or mountain bike, the frame is light for steel, sprints well, and has a forgiving ride.
First of all, a huge shoutout to Damon for amazing customer service! We went back and forth for weeks as he responded to my constant questions and that factor alone pushed me over the deciding line and into a new Wabi Lightning. The build quality is top notch, paint is great and package was shipped so well that the frame arrived flawlessly. I built a full custom so I can only speak on the frame, but it is lightweight, strong, and responsive. Not too stiff but doesn't feel noddle-like under power, it's right in the comfort zone for me. I highly recommend this frame. I have only two complaints. One, the close tolerances of the chainstays only allow a small selection of cranks/bottom brackets. Sram Omniums will NOT work, let my mistake save you money, I tried to install Omniums and the spider arms that hold the chainring strike the chainstays. Not wanting a square taper crankset on my high-end build, I went with the Vision NS 386EVO cranks and they work amazing. Two, the largest rear tire possible is 28c, but I'm making it work so no big deal there. Overall an amazing product and great customer service, I wouldn't hesitate to build another Wabi!
I love my Wabi. Thanks to Matt Gragg for all the help and guidance he gave me in regard to sizing and choosing the right components etc. Matt was always on hand to answer my incessant questions and really helped me decide which bike I ended up with. The bike is gorgeous! Thanks Wabi!
