The right fit makes your bike more comfortable, efficient, and enjoyable to ride. Buying online can make sizing feel a little uncertain, but we’ve fitted thousands of riders and can help you get it right.

IMPORTANT NOTES

PRISM SIZING VS. CLASSIC/SPECIAL/LIGHTNING/THUNDER SIZING

Prisms are sized differently than Classic, Specials, Lightnings, and Thunders. We changed the model to center-to-top sizing (measuring from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube) vs. center-to-center. That means the same-number sizing doesn't match between the Prisms and the other models. They are all 2 cm different, with the Prisms 2 cms taller than the equivalent size in the other models.

Finding Your Frame Size

Option 1: Height + Actual Inseam (Recommended)

For most riders, this is the easiest way to choose a frame size.

  1. Measure your height without shoes. Measure twice to make sure it’s accurate.
  2. Measure your actual inseam using this method. Don't use your pants inseam—it isn't the same measurement.
  3. Compare your measurements to the sizing chart below. Start with your inseam and choose a frame with a standover height at least 1 inch below your actual inseam. This provides comfortable clearance when standing over the bike. Then confirm that your height falls within the recommended rider range.

Between Sizes?

Body proportions vary, so height and inseam don't always point to the same frame.

If the larger frame is just short of providing 1 inch of clearance, it may still work. Shoes also add a little effective standover clearance. However, we don't recommend a frame with a standover height greater than your actual inseam.

If standover pushes you toward a smaller frame, we can usually determine whether it will work by looking at your reach and adjusting components such as the stem.

Use the measurements in Option 2 below or contact us and we'll help determine the best setup.

Occasionally, a rider simply falls outside the fit range of our frames. We'd rather tell you that than try to force a fit that isn't right.

Option 2: Match a Bike You Already Like

Already have a bike that fits well? We can use its riding position as a starting point for your Wabi.

Using the diagram below, send us these five measurements:

  1. Saddle height: Center of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle, measured along the seat tube.
  2. Saddle setback: Drop a plumb line from the tip of the saddle and measure horizontally from the line to the center of the bottom bracket.
  3. Reach: Tip of the saddle to the center of the handlebar, measured parallel to the floor.
  4. Saddle-to-floor height: Top of the saddle directly above the seatpost to the floor, measured perpendicular to the floor.
  5. Handlebar-to-floor height: Centerline of the handlebar to the floor, measured perpendicular to the floor.

These measurements let us reproduce the relationship between your saddle, pedals, and handlebars on your new bike.

Metric measurements are preferred if possible. Send us the five measurements along with your height and actual inseam, and we'll take it from there.

Dialing In Your Components

Every Wabi build starts with stem, handlebar, and crank sizes selected to match the frame size. For most riders, our standard setup works well right out of the box.

Stem Length

Stem length is one of the easiest ways to fine-tune your riding position.

Our recommendations below are based on rider height and frame size and are intended to create a relatively athletic everyday riding position—not an extreme racing position.

A shorter stem creates a more upright, compact position. A longer stem creates a more stretched-out position.

Body proportions matter too. Riders with relatively long legs and shorter torsos often benefit from a shorter reach, while riders with longer torsos may prefer a longer stem.

Handlebar Width

Handlebar width affects both comfort and handling. As a starting point, your arms should feel natural and roughly parallel when your hands are in their normal riding position.

Narrower bars feel quicker and make it easier to navigate tight urban spaces. Wider bars provide more leverage and a more open upper-body position.

Our builds come with standard widths based on frame size and bar style, but other widths may be available. Contact us if you'd like a recommendation or a different setup.

Crank Length

Our standard crank length is 170mm, which works well for most riders and provides a good balance of leverage, cadence, and pedal clearance.

A 165mm crank can be a good choice for shorter riders or anyone who prefers a faster cadence. Shorter cranks also provide additional pedal clearance when cornering—particularly useful when riding fixed gear.

A 175mm crank can work well for taller riders with longer legs and provides slightly more leverage, but reduces cornering clearance.

For most riders, especially those riding varied or hilly terrain, 170mm is the best all-around choice.
