DESCRIPTION

The Wabi 650B All-Terrain is a lightweight, tubeless-ready single-speed/fixed gear wheelset for those who want to retrofit wide tires on a traditional track-style frame for urban riding, gravel, road, or whatever. Coming in at only 1,600 grams, this single-speed/fixed-gear wheelset features a wide, mid-profile rim with a black gloss finish, a silver machined braking surface, and our low-flange hub. The wider rim can accommodate up to 50mm tires. Lastly, our specially designed fixed/fixed hubs, with a slightly deeper design than standard fixed hubs, are designed to accept freewheels more easily for single-speed riding. It even includes tubeless tape.

This wheelset includes installed tubless rim tape, one lockring and one fixed cog spacer.

Notes

IMPORTANT: The diameter of these wheels are considerably smaller than traditional 700C wheels. You will need to install at least 38mm, if not 42mm, tires to offset the size difference to ensure your bottom bracket (and pedals) is not too low. If not installing on Wabi frames, we recommend measuring the inside width of your chain stays at about 13" from the axle center to determine what size can fit (with clearance on both sides). For Wabis, we recommend 42mm tires on Classics or Thunder. This will lower the frame by just under a 1/2". If riding freewheel with brakes, you will need long reach brakes, like the Tektro R559s, and you can opt to stay with 170mm crank arms (though 165mm will be less likely to have pedal strike on turns). If riding fixed, we highly recommend 165mm crank arms to prevent pedal strike.

Due to the varying thickness of fixed cogs, we recommend using the provided fixed cog spacer when installing a fixed cog to ensure a tight fit between the cog and the lockring. If you need a second spacer, let us know.

These wheels are only for 120mm rear dropout widths (OLD) and can't be used or adapted for wider dropout widths like 126mm.
