Description
NOTE: During QA, these frames were found to have a very small variance in the internal diameter of the head tube. Though slight, it could cause certain headset cups to loosen over time. To remedy this situation, we are installing a free White Industries headset with a retaining compound on these imperfect frames and builds. This is meant to be a ‘permanent’ solution in that you get a high-quality headset that should not need to be replaced and won’t come loose. We are also discounting these frames and builds due to this issue.
The Lightning frame is one of the lightest - if not the lightest - steel single speed/fixed gear frames out there at under 5 pounds (55cm). It features a triple-butted Columbus Spirit frame and a paint-matched carbon fork that delivers a light, responsive ride. The Lightning frame features our Wabi hybrid track-road frame geometry - designed to be nimble for quick dashes through the city or comfortable for long rides on the backroads.
The current colors are:
- Pearl Black, a pearlescent metallic black.
- Sunlit Silver, a bright metallic silver
- Nitro Orange, a bright orange (limited sizes avaiable)
- Crystal Grey, a dark pearlized gray.
- Note that we don't offer custom colors for the Lightning.
For the highest performance of this latest build edition, we now include an FSA Orbit X (black) or Velo Orange Gran Cru (silver) headset ($55-70 value) on the Lightning.

COMPONENT SIZING
Note that our frames are designed around a 170mm crank arm length, a 24mm setback seatpost and varying stem lengths (based on frame size and height). You can find our stem length recommendations under the 'DETERMINING BIKE COMPONENTS FIT' section on the sizing page. If you choose different components, it may impact the fit.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON COMPATIBILITY
We cannot guarantee the fit of any specific component set other than the ones we sell with our complete bikes. If you are planning a specific build please contact us to see if we are aware of any issues. Even so, we will be unable to offer refunds based on lack of fit with any third-party components.
