BUILT FOR THE LONG ROAD, READY FOR THE STREETS

If you’re a road cyclist looking to make the leap to single speed or fixed gear—whether for training, an added challenge, or to try something new—the 2019 Wabi Classic is made for you. With frame geometry that’s relaxed but not slouchy, it’s perfect for long distance head-up riding while remaining aggressive enough to tuck in and give those pedals hell.

If mashing down city streets is more your style, the Wabi Classic's short wheelbase gives you a nimble ride for dodging taxis or bunny-hopping any rip-rap that gets in your way.

IN STEEL WE TRUST

At about 19 pounds, the Wabi Classic is one of the lightest all-steel fixed gear bikes around. And it’s all thanks to Reynolds 725 Chromoly steel. As a double-butted tubing, Reynolds 725 has thinner walls throughout its length while its critical connection points are thicker to allow for stronger welds. It’s also heat-treated for greater durability and rigidity than the more-common 4130 Chromoly steel used in lower-end framesets. TIG welded by hand, this frame is as strong as it is sleek.

BOMBPROOF EVERYTHING

At the tail-end, you’ll find true track-style horizontal rear dropouts that can handle the extra torque generated when backpedaling to slow your roll. Rock-solid components from major makers including Tektro, Tange, and Andel complete the package.

Adding to the buttery feel of the Wabi Classic, a hand-brazed tapered Chromoly steel fork leads the way, soaking up bumps and chatters like a champ. Shipped with a sealed bearing Tange Seiki Technoglide headset installed and ready to rock, expect crisp steering and handling out of the box.

      Steel

We use Reynolds 725 and Columbus Spirit. These higher quality grades of steel allows us to use less of it, so you get a lighter, more responsive frame.

      E.D Coating

Our steel frames are E.D. coated to act as a rust preventative and a primer. This high-performance rust inhibitor is applied inside the frame and out.

      design

Wabi frames are road-designed with upright angles, and short wheelbases, which creates comfort, efficiency, and predictable handling. Our road frame design gives you an agile and fast ride.

      Details

We love the detail of our frames. You'll find cast-brazed dropouts, machined head tubes, brazed seatpost collars, bottle cage eyelets, and brazed forks.

      Best bike I’ve ever owned

Like the title of my review, this is the best bike I’ve had so I have nothing but good to say about the handling, weight and overall smoothness! Also got the sub15 rims with it and my old bike feels like an anchor now. The reason I took one star away is from a pretty big scratch (3inches) on the left chainstay that was not done during shipping as the foam noodle and box didn’t have that kind of mark. Also small dent in downtube but this one was clearly by Fedex :/

      Great Quality, So much fun.

First off, it's a gorgeous bike. It's so clean and classy looking...my fiance let's me keep it in our apartment living room, because it adds to the decor. It's always whispering..."take me out for a spin, Dustin." The ride is silky smooth. Originally I planned on riding it primarily in SS , but after switching to the fixed cog it probably won't go back. It's ninja quite as a fixed gear and I often make clueless walkers jump as I glide past them on the multi use trail. I did upgrade to the Sub-15's and I'm not regretting that move in the least. I live in an area with some nice hills and the light weight classic climbs like a champ. The components are all excellent quality. This baby is built to last for a long time. Most importantly, the Wabi Classic is a joy to ride. The classic is a simple, and beautiful bicycle to add to your collection or as your main squeeze.

      Happy Camper

The bike is a perfect fit! I'm 6'4" 180 lb, Curtis and the team were very communicative and helpful, they set me up with a 58 cm frame with a headset spacer. I love the compact feel, certainly the most comfortable bike I've ever used. I absolutely love the fit. Delivery was seamless, everything arrived ready to assemble quickly. Parts are all solid, and it's a very handsome bike (dark Midnight Blue). So happy I found Wabi! Looking forward to many years of riding. Thank you!

      Gift and a Curse

I received my Classic in Pearl and I enjoyed seeing it for the first time as I opened the box. The paint was my challenge, the forks left a bad impression on me. The paint did come chipped as soon as I took off the fork plastic protector. To make matters worse the paint underneath the bottle cage was sort of the same thing. The upside to it though was when I reached out to Jeremy from Wabi Cycles and he reassured me a few things. He would take care of it, and as a matter a fact, until I receive the replacement, to ride the bike until it got straightened out. Apparently the factory in Taiwan has been shipping the color Pearl and its been the only frame causing challenges with the paint not sticking to the frame. Needless to say, I was hit with a conundrum. Do I wait for the new fork to come from Taiwan and hope it don't have the issue or do I order a Special?? I went with ordering a Special! Jeremy allowed me to send the bike back to Wabi on their dollar since it was a manufacture challenge. He did mention the return policy is a specific one and this incident will be one of the ones they will cover. I guess you can call this scenario a gift (Special) and a curse (Classic). A review on the Wabi Special will be coming once I receive delivery of that. I did chose to go with a custom paint job so I hope this experience will be the end all of my "Classic" curse.

      Good Bike

The bike really is well built from great materials—the 725 tubing and cast drop-outs are very nice. Clean welds all around. But the handling is a bit floppy when out of the saddle. It’s not bad, but not so good as my not-too-fancy road bike as I had hoped. And the powder-coating is so thin I scratched all the way through to the metal putting a cable clip on the the top tube. So, yeah for the price it’s not a bad bike. Far better than the cheesy alternatives you can buy.
